The ADW Ladies of Charity held its First Annual One-Day Retreat at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Washington, DC on Saturday, November 15, 2014.  Dr. Rita L. Robinson, LCUSA Middle Atlantic Regional VP gave an overview of the retreat and introduced Ms. Mary Hand, ADW President and Sister Frances Ryan, DC to the attendees.   Sister Ryan who joined us from Chicago, IL was the retreat facilitator.  Also, she is the LCUSA Spiritual Moderator.  The theme of the retreat was “Vincentian Spirituality.”

Sr. Ryan gave a historical presentation on “Our Vincentian Journey as Ladies of Charity.”  Also, panel discussions on spirituality were presented by Bertha Guerra (LOC St. Gabriel – District of Columbia) and Rosemary Coller (LOC St. Ignatius of Loyola – Prince George’s County).  The retreat was concluded with Mass held for the intentions of all the deceased members of the ADW Ladies of Charity.  Rev. Michael Shea, C.M. of Philadelphia, PA was the Principal Celebrant.
