On May 5, 2012, the Ladies of Charity held its Annual May Day fundraiser with the Celebration of the Crowning of the Blessed Mother at St. Ann’s Infant and Maternity Home. Rev. Carl F. Dianda, Spiritual Director for the Ladies of Charity, was the principal celebrant of the Mass. This year, Ms Deborah Self was selected to do the honors of crowning the Blessed Mother. Immediately following Mass, the ladies enjoyed a delicious luncheon with sandwiches and a large array of different salads provided by the ladies of Prince George’s County; desserts provided by the District of Columbia parish groups; and, beverages were provided by Calvert and Charles County parish groups. The staff of St. Ann’s set-up and decorated the tables in the auditorium. Gifts were donated to be raffled as door prizes and a 50/50 raffle took place as well. As a result, the Ladies of Charity were able to donate $545.00 to St. Ann’s. In addition, attendees brought an assortment of new layette items for the children. A good time was had by all present.
